Where did it begin?
Acupuncture originated in China over 2,500 years ago. Since that time it has been recognized as a healing art form, which embraces the concept of a harmonious uniting of the body, mind and spirit. This unity of life force, also known as Chi,is the energy that flows through the body's meridians or energy channels. When Chi is disturbed and the body's natural flow of energy changes, an individual's well-being suffers. Furthermore, our bodies become more vulnerable to illness, as we are susceptible to the effects of greater stress and disharmony. Acupuncture assists the body in returning to its natural balance and the unity of the Chi.

What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu, also referred to as acupressure, is a traditional bodywork practice from Japan. It has gained popularity in this country due to its relaxation and rejuvenation response. Shiatsu is especially preferred by the elderly and the very young (and those not ready yet for needles).
During a typical treatment the practitioner supports the client with coordinated breathing, passive stretching, rotation, rocking, while using gentle pressure to stimulate the ortho- and sympathetic nervous system along the meridian lines.
For a session, please, wear loose, comfortable cotton clothing.
I use therapeutic-grade essential oils to support my treatment goals. They are considered a missing link in modern medicine.
"Sound has the ability to rearrange structure"
- February 8, 1988, New York Times, Science
(Thus it seems only natural that sound is evolving in the healing practice).
Since the beginning of time, sound has connected all living things. It is an energetic, vibrational force, recognized by the ancients, as well as in modern medicine. A Swiss medical doctor, Hans Jenny, in the twentieth century, experimented with sound and movement. Applying sound as a healing approach can be as simple as the use of our own voice in the form of "toning" various vowels, such as the sound of Ahhhhh.......The application of tuning forks to acupuncture points is another example.
To understand the simplicity of the use of sound imagine how sadness shuts down your lung and with that constricts your breathing. This can lead to blockage of your energy system. By proper diaphragmatic expansion of your chest all is put back into motion. There are numerous stories on the miraculous healing ability of sound.
The energy of your home is an extension of your body. Applying Feng Shui to your living space is considered as "acupuncture on your house". What is not working in your life may most often also show up in your environment and clearing certain spaces may create movement in your body.
